Floral Dreams do Come True!

When we began planning Brooke’s wedding in April of 2019, and we were certain of one thing!

I had attended 2 weddings, a dear friends two daughters, in which Emily the owner of Petals Couture, was the florist and I was blown away both times by her stunning work.

Brooke and I both love flowers, and cake, so diving into these two areas was fun and exciting for both of us.

To get started we met with Emily in her McKinney workshop.  She specializes in weddings so no need for a retail store front.  She immediately responded to Brooke’s requests by showing us lots of flowers she had in her cooler.  A few days later we received and “inspiration board” and we were sold!

Of course, none of us expected this global pandemic and certainly never expected it to continue through the summer.  Luckily, we only had to postpone the wedding 1 time and all of our vendors, including Emily came along with us for our new date.

About 6 weeks ago, Emily invited Brooke and I to come to the Dallas flower market to see firsthand what would be available in late August.

Talk about 2 kids in a candy store!!

I had the time of my life watching Brooke and Emily work together to craft an assortment of blooms that will be a show stopper for sure!

Later, Brooke asked me why I did not speak up more, it is out of character for me to be stay silent.  I said “why would I say anything?”

In the beginning, the idea of planning a wedding and all of the details on top of my crazy work schedule, got to me.  I felt a lot of stress and pressure.  I had to have a serious talk with myself.  This is once in a lifetime and I wanted the process to be fun and to be in the moment.

I have watched in amazement as my 25-26 year-old-daughter has made the most beautiful and tasteful decisions at every single turn.

I learned a phrase that was very valuable “whatever YOU want”.  Within reason of course!  I am also happy to say that Brooke was always very cognoscente of the budget we set.

I can’t wait to see Brookes wedding vision come to life and I’m especially excited to see the flowers.

Brooke and Chris will be wed on Friday, August 28th at 6:00 pm!
