Book Recommendation- French Flair
Book recommendations will be a new feature on A Taste of Paris. Over the past few years, I’ve read countless books on French food, culture, fashion, and any other topic related to the French and I’m delighted to recommend the very best to you here!
I am also thrilled to tell you that I will be giving away a copy of French Flair to one lucky follower! Read on to find out how to win!
I wanted to start with an easy read, and style guide, that all women who’d like to be effortlessly chic, should have on hand, French Flair. French women have an innate sense of what’s chic but they never look like they’ve toiled endlessly over what to put on. How is this possible? Well, in French Flair, author Nancy Flaherty, tells you how and it’s surprisingly simple.
Nancy currently serves on the board of Fashion Group International Atlanta and has made a name for herself in the fashion industry. Serving as an editor for Captendance Magazine, a luxury publication featuring fashion culture, gastronomy, and travel, gave her a front-row seat at Paris fashion shows for an up-close look at fashion and style-makers. Since that time, Nancy created Grace in Paris, an online magazine about shopping in Paris.
This pretty book whittles fashion offerings to just 10 essential pieces that will allow you to be chic like French women with very little effort.
This is me, posing for the camera wearing two of Nancy’s essential items, the Blazer, #04. and Jeans #08, my favorite wardrobe combination. By simply having well-fitting essentials to draw from, putting an outfit together is seamless.
Nancy has been fixated on fashion and style history her entire life and she details the history from the beginning of each wardrobe necessity making for a fascinating read. In addition to the background of each item, Nancy gives you so many ideas about how to put outfits together. Included in the book are beautiful illustrations and the book features photographs of the key pieces for even more fashion inspiration.
Nancy asserts that the white blouse is another style workhorse and I agree! I won’t give away the other essentials I am wearing in this photo, you will have to buy or WIN the book to find out!
