Sparkling Pear Cocktail Thanksgiving Part 2

Sparling Pear Cocktail

Sparkling Pear Cocktail Thanksgiving Part 2

It is so hard to believe that Thanksgiving is now less than 2 weeks away. If you are like me, it’s time to craft the menu for the most important cooking day of the year.

When I think about what will grace the Thanksgiving table, a few tried and true favorites along with some new recipes will give the meal plenty of interest.

Pears are at their best this time of year so incorporating them into the Thanksgiving feast is a natural. One of my all time favorite recipes featuring this fruit is Roasted Pears with Gorgonzola and Pecans. Pears are roasted to perfection then drizzled with honey and topped with blue or gorgonzola cheese, and my Sweet and Spicy Pecans. So good!

Since the publication of this recipe in 2016, I’ve discovered something that changed my world. Did you know there is no need to blanch pears? Just use a vegetable peeler and peel them like an apple. I discovered this while cooking in France, and you could have knocked me over with a feather. It never occurred to me to peel a pear like you would an apple!

Sparkling Pear Cocktail for Thanksgiving

This year I’m thinking about Thanksgiving flavors in non-traditional ways and it seemed like the ideal time to share one of my new favorite cocktail recipes, the Sparkling Pear Cocktail. This festive blend, features pear juice, vodka, and sparkling wine, delicious served with appetizers or with a meal if you choose. If you’re not already following me on Instagram, click over and see me making this celebratory cocktail! My handle is @atasteofparis

Sparkling Pear Cocktail

1-part pear or plain vodka

1-part pear juice

A squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Dash of cinnamon

1-part dry sparkling wine- I used Cava

Garnish

Lemon wedge

dash cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar

Prepare glass by mixing cinnamon and sugar on a small plate.  Run the lemon wedge around the rim of the glass then dip the rim into the sugar mixture and set aside.  Shake vodka and juices with cinnamon and ice in a cocktail shaker and pour into the glass.  Top with sparkling wine and enjoy.
