The Art of the Aperitif 2 SEATS OPEN

November 20, 2025

The Art of the Apéritif

So elegant, so refined—the cherished hour before dinner when cocktails, small bites, and lively conversation mingle effortlessly. In France, this ritual is a way of life, and in this beautiful class, we’ll learn how to bring that same spirit into our own homes just in time for the holiday entertaining season.

We’ll begin with three classic French cocktails often served during l’heure de l’apéritif. We will taste all three and pick our passion to enjoy! We will shake the French 76, a French sparkling blend of lemon and vodka with a touch of sophistication; the French Martini, a vibrant, modern favorite that balances tart raspberry and pineapple with smooth vodka; and the Kir Royale, the epitome of French elegance—French sparkling wine kissed with crème de cassis.

From there, we’ll turn our attention to the irresistible foods that make this hour so memorable. We’ll prepare three gorgeous and refined tartlets—each one a little work of art. Beet and Goat Cheese Tartlet with Balsamic Reduction, earthy beets and tangy goat cheese crowned with a glossy drizzle of balsamic for a jewel-toned bite that’s as beautiful as it is delicious. Provençal Tartlet with Confit Tomatoes, Red Peppers, and Olives, bursting with sun-ripened Mediterranean flavors that transport you straight to the South of France and last but not least, Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Tartlet, rich, earthy, and deeply savory, it feels like cozy elegance on a plate.

We’ll also create Ham and Gruyère Gougères, the airy, golden cheese puffs that melt hearts at every gathering, and Savory Tomato Basil Palmiers, a buttery swirl of flavor perfect for pairing with cocktails. Our Luxe Maple Nut Mix will round out the menu—simple, sweet, and utterly addictive—along with a few traditional apéritif tidbits that complete the experience.

This promises to be an elegant evening filled with delicious bites, beautiful sips, and the joy of gathering around the table, French-style.
